India vs Great Britain FIH Pro League Live Score: After starting the London leg of the FIH Pro League on a winning note on Saturday, Indian men’s hockey team will look to make it two wins out of two this weekend as they take on hosts Great Britain. Later on, the respective women’s hockey teams will be up against each other as well.
With three matches left in their Pro League season, head coach Craig Fulton will be looking fine-tune the preparations and finalise his squad for the Olympic Games.
On Saturday, Harmanpreet Singh and Co defeated world champions Germany (although not at their full strength) 3-0 with a clinical display. They overcame periods of sustained pressure to keep a clean sheet with PR Sreejesh once again having a good match. Going forward, India were efficient as Harmanpreet scored from a drag flick in Q2 before Sukhjeet Singh and Gurjant Singh scored fine field goals in Q3. Germany failed to convert from as many as 12 penalty corners.
Under Harendra Singh’s stint as head coach, Indian women’s team are in transition after missing out on qualification for Paris Olympics. They are yet to win a match in their European tour, and were soundly beaten by Germany on Saturday, despite a stellar performance by Savita Punia in goal, who helped keep the score decent at 1-3.
The men’s team match is at 4.45 pm IST, the women’s team match will start later at 7.00 pm IST.
