Congress Fields Its Woman Wing President Against CM Atishi From Kalkaji Seat

Delhi Election 2025: The Congress party on Friday announced Alka Lamba as its candidate for the Kalkaji seat, where she will face off against Chief Minister Atishi in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, expected to be held in February 2025. Alka Lamba, the president of the All India Mahila Congress, is a former legislator from the Chandni Chowk seat and a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader.

She returned to the Congress in 2019 after resigning from AAP, citing disrespect within the party.

Previously, Congress has also fielded Sandeep Dikshit, a former Lok Sabha member and the son of three-time Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, against AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat. Kejriwal, the AAP convenor, has been representing the New Delhi constituency since 2013 and is seeking a fourth term.
