Crime Patrol Actor Raghav Tiwari ‘Stabbed, Hit With Iron Rod’, Alleges Police Didn’t Act Despite CCTV Proof

Actor Raghav Tiwari, best known for his appearances in Crime Patrol, has alleged that he was attacked in Mumbai’s Versova area and has accused the local police of failing to take sufficient action. The incident allegedly occurred on 30 December while he was returning home after shopping.

In a conversation with news agency IANS, Raghav Tiwari recounted the sequence of events. While crossing the road after stepping out of his friend’s car, he collided with a biker. “I apologised immediately, but the biker began abusing me,” he remarked. The argument escalated, with the biker attacking him with a knife.

“I asked him why he was abusing me. After this, he got down from his bike in anger and stabbed me twice. He then kicked me in the stomach. I fell to the ground. He pulled out a liquor bottle and an iron rod from his bike’s trunk to hit me,” the actor detailed.

He also alleged, “Looking at his style, it seemed he was a professional knife attacker.”

In an attempt to defend himself, Raghav Tiwari said he picked up a piece of wood and struck the biker’s hand, causing the bottle to fall. “But that angered him even more, and he hit my head with an iron rod twice,” he told IANS. The attacker, later identified as Mohammad Zaid, son of action director Parvez Shaikh, fled the scene.

Raghav’s friends rushed him to a nearby hospital where he received stitches for his injuries.

Actor Raghav Tiwari Alleges Police Inaction Despite Another Confrontation With Attacker

He alleged that the police were unresponsive when he approached them to file a complaint. “The police collected CCTV footage, but even then they did not make any arrest,” he claimed.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 118(1) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. However, Raghav criticised the choice of charges, arguing that the sections applied were inadequate given the severity of the attack.

He claimed that the attacker approached him again days after the first incident and misbehaved with him and his friend, but despite this, no action has been taken.

The actor, who has also featured in Bollywood films and web series, has urged the authorities to take strict action against the attacker.
