Government Launches Digital Bharat Nidhi For Enhanced Internet Connectivity


The Telecom Department is launching the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) to address the digital divide and provide equitable telecom services across the country. This new initiative aims to enhance internet connectivity and ensure that telecom services are accessible to all regions uniformly. The DBN will replace the previously established Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). The government’s move is designed to improve digital infrastructure and support the expansion of internet access in underserved areas. This transition reflects a strategic shift to better address the evolving needs of digital connectivity and ensure that all citizens benefit from enhanced telecom services.
