IND vs SA: Why third India vs South Africa T20I was halted | Cricket News

IND vs SA: The third T20I match between India and South Africa was halted after just one over being bowled in the second innings by India. The reason was not adverse weather conditions. Instead the IND vs SA match had been halted because there was a sudden swarm of flying ants which engulfed the Centurion Stadium on Wednesday.

The IND vs SA match was restarted at 11.10 pm after an inspection. There were no overs lost due to the delay in the game.

When the match was halted, South Africa were batting on seven runs for the loss of no wickets after one over from Arshdeep Singh.

But just as Hardik Pandya was about to bowl the second over in the third IND vs SA T20I game, the match was halted by the on-field umpires who were wary of the flying ants entering a player’s eyes. Arshdeep Singh was spotted trying to swat some of these flying ants away from his eyes during his over.
