India T20I squad vs Bangladesh: The Indian T20I squad scheduled to face Bangladesh in a 3-match T20I series, starting October 6 was announced on Saturday with Lucknow Super Giants pace sensation Mayank Yadav earning his debut cap for the country. Yadav has been on the sidelines since April 30 after suffering an injury during the IPL 2024.
The team will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav and also feature the return of spinner Varun Chakaravarthy to the national team after 2021. Chakaravarthy had played a pivotal role in helping the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinch their third IPL title earlier in the year under the mentorship of now-India coach Gautam Gambhir.
Nitish Reddy, the back-up seamer all-rounder after Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube, also got a look-in after he missed out on the recent Zimbabwe tour owing to an injury.
The talented players like Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana have all found a place in the 15-man squad that has Jitesh Sharma as the second keeper behind Sanju Samson.
India are currently in the midst of a Test series against Bangladesh which will is scheduled to end on October 1st. They will then play the aforementioned T20I series against the Bangla Tigers with the first match on October 6 in Gwalior, followed by the second match on October 9 in Delhi. The series comes to an end after the third match in Hyderabad on October 12.

After this series, New Zealand, who last toured India for bilaterals in 2021, will play a three-match Test series starting October 16 that will continue until the first week of November.
India are also travel to South Africa in November to take part in a 4-match T20I series. The series will begin on November 8 in Kingsmead Stadium in Durban, with the next game on November 10 in Gqeberha’s St George’s Park. The series will then move to the highveld with Supersport Park in Centurion for the third match on November 13 and Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium will host the last match on November 16.
Following the aforementioned series, India are scheduled to travel to Australia for a much anticipated five-match Test series.
