The new IPL rule allowing Indian internationals to bracketed in the uncapped category if they have gone five years without a BCCI contract or national team appearance helped CSK to secure Dhoni for as low as Rs 4 crore. CSK also retained all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for as high as 18 crore, alongside skipper Ruturaj, despite the 35-year-old recently retiring from T20Is.
