Kashmir Still Has Negative Temperature, Cold Wave Reigns In Rajasthan. Check Weather Forecast For Today

Weather Forecast: The impact of the cold wave is abating in Delhi-NCR, with the sun during the day and the mild cold at night bringing some relief to people. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that light fog will persist in the region for the next few days. There is a possibility of rain due to the activation of two western disturbances, which may lead to a drop in temperature.

According to the IMD, the weather will remain dry in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday, January 28. The temperature is likely to rise due to the reduced fog cover and stronger sunshine during the day. Isolated pockets in Delhi-NCR could see dense fog on Wednesday, though. Earlier, India saw its warmest Republic Day in 8 years.

The minimum temperature could reach 8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 24 degrees Celsius. “The Maximum and Minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 22 to 24°C and 06 to 08°C respectively. The minimum temperature was below normal up to 2°C and the maximum temperature was above normal up to 2°C over most places,” a bulletin from the IMD on Tuesday evening read.

The temperature at 5:30 AM on Tuesday was recorded at  6.6oC. There will be a gradual increase in the minimum temperature from January 29. There is no likelihood of rain.

Improved Air Quality In Delhi

Improvement has also been seen in the air quality in NCR. The AQI of Ghaziabad was recorded at 156 on Monday, Greater Noida at 132, and Noida at 126. People are able to enjoy the open air due to the low pollution levels. The overall AQI in Delhi, however, was 267 at 5:30 AM on Tuesday, which is a cause for concern.

Cold Wave In Rajasthan

The cold wave is still in full force in Rajasthan. The minimum temperature in Fatehpur was recorded at 0.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature is also very low in other places, such as Sikar, Nagaur, Karauli and Mount Abu. At present, there is no possibility of any major change in the weather in the state.

Rain & Snowfall In Kashmir From January 29

Kashmir is experiencing warmth during the day and severe cold at night. The minimum temperature in Srinagar has dropped to -5.5 degrees Celsius. The cold wave is also continuing in Pahalgam and other areas. Rain and snowfall are expected again from January 29 in several places, which may lead to a change in temperature.

Cold Wave In Bihar

The cold wave is continuing in Bihar due to the effect of the western disturbance. The chill has increased due to the westerly winds. According to the IMD, two separate western disturbances will be active on January 29 and February 1, due to which light to moderate rain and strong winds are expected.

Dense fog in the morning and evening may increase traffic problems. Dense fog will persist in Patna, East Champaran, Darbhanga, Supaul, Madhubani, Gaya, Vaishali and other districts. However, the sun may provide some relief from the cold during the day.

Rain Likely In Haryana & Punjab

Cold winds and fog are also being seen in Haryana and Punjab. Dense fog persists in the morning and evening in many districts including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Sirsa, Bhiwani and Gurugram, affecting normal life. According to weather experts, if the effect of the western disturbance increases, these areas could get some rain.

The cold may even increase with strong winds. This could be challenging for farmers and travellers.

The IMD has issued an alert for rain and snowfall in the hilly and plain areas of North India in the first week of February. During this time, there is a possibility of dense fog in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and northeastern states. Due to the western disturbance, the weather is expected to change next week with a drop in temperature.
