Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘AAP-da’ remark, saying that the people of Delhi are still waiting for the PM to fulfill his promises made in 2020.

Kejriwal, while addressing a press conference in Delhi on Sunday, referred to the Delhi Land Reform Acts concerning unauthorised colonies, saying that promises made by the prime minister has not been fulfilled.

“I want to remind PM Modi of the promises he made in 2020… The people of Delhi are still waiting for his promises to be fulfilled. PM Modi promises that Delhi Land Reform Acts’ clauses 81 and 33 will be cancelled. The Delhi Assembly passed the proposal for it many years ago… I want to ask PM Modi to talk a little bit on this as well when he comes to give speeches in Delhi next time,” Kejriwal said.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi reiterated his ‘AAP-da’ (disaster) charge at AAP chief Kejriwal and accused the Delhi government of derailing development in the past 10 years. He urged the people to give a chance to the party in the upcoming Assembly polls, scheduled in February.

“I am confident that lotus (BJP’s electoral symbol) is going to bloom in Delhi as well. Only the BJP can give Delhi the status of the best capital city in the world. This is the best time to win the hearts of the people of Delhi and remove this ‘AAP-da’ from Delhi,” PM Modi said at a rally at Japanese Park in Rohini. 

Kejriwal said that the inauguration of the first phase of the Delhi–Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) was done as a result of the joint cooperation of the Delhi government and the centre.

“Today, the first phase of RRTS, connecting Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar was inaugurated along with Delhi metro’s new line connecting Krishna Park with Janakpuri West, and the foundation stone was laid for a new metro line connecting Rithala with Kundli. I congratulate the people of Delhi,” he said.

“All three projects were inaugurated jointly by the Delhi government and central government. The inauguration of these projects show that AAP works only for the people of Delhi,” the former CM added.
