Mumbai vs Madhya Pradesh Highlights, SMAT 2024 Final: Shedge wins it for MUM as they claim second title

Mumbai vs Madhya Pradesh Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Final Highlights: Rajat Patidar’s unbeaten 81 helped Madhya Pradesh set a 175-run target for Shreyas Iyer’s Mumbai in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. But this proved to be a tad bit less as Mumbai’s star studded batting line-up fired away to chase the target down just within 18 overs, Suryansh Shedge being the star of the evening,

Mumbai won the toss and opted to field first against an in-form MP side. A collapse meant the onus fell on Patidar to make a outstanding contibution with his 40-ball 81, laced with six fours and as many sixes.

Madhya Pradesh made their first final in the Syed Mushtaq Ali in over a decade, but it was Mumbai’s eyes on their second title that was stronger.

Suryakumar Yadav’s 35-ball-48 controlled Mumbai’s batting, as Suryansh came in after quick wickets fell, and scored a fiery 15 ball 36 to win it for Mumbai. Rahane had scored five half-centuries in his seven previous innings of the tournament, but missed out on one today as he could manage just about 37 off 30 balls.
