Over 15 Crore Holy Baths Completed As Pilgrims Continue to Flock To the Holy Event

The Mahakumbh 2025 continues to draw massive crowds, with over 15 crore snan (ritualistic baths) already completed as of this morning. The event, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, has seen an overwhelming number of pilgrims and kalpwasis (devotees observing a 30-day vow) participating in the sacred rituals.

As of today, more than 45.07 lakh pilgrims have visited the Kumbh site, and the total snan count for the day has already surpassed 55.07 lakh. Since the beginning of the Mahakumbh, over 14.76 crore snans had been performed by January 27. This morning, the cumulative total crossed the monumental 15-crore mark on Tuesday, showcasing the immense devotion of the participants.

The Mahakumbh, which takes place once every 12 years, is an event that attracts millions of devotees from across India and abroad. The ritual of taking a dip in the holy river is believed to cleanse one’s sins and bring spiritual liberation.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings, has already attracted over 10 crore devotees and visitors to Prayagraj, marking its resounding success as a cultural and religious milestone. Till January 23, the event surpassed expectations, with more than 3.5 crore devotees participating in the sacred bath on Makar Sankranti (January 14).

With a total of 45 crore devotees anticipated by the time the festival concludes, the event continues to be a significant spiritual occasion for millions.

On January 16, 2025, the festival also witnessed unique international participation, with a 21-member delegation from 10 countries – Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UAE – taking part in the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. This gesture of global cultural exchange was supported by arrangements for the delegation’s stay at the Tent City in Arail.

With cutting-edge technology, extensive infrastructure development, and sustainable planning, the Maha Kumbh 2025 has set new standards in both event management and global cultural exchange. From the grand Shahi Snans to the mesmerising Akhara processions, the festival is a fine blend of India’s spiritual traditions and modern advancements.

Major Attractions at Maha Kumbh

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 offers an exciting mix of spirituality, culture, and technological innovation. One of the standout attractions is the “Tejas Pandal,” a majestic 85-foot-tall structure modelled after the HAL Tejas fighter jet, symbolizing India’s technological prowess. The Akharas, guardians of India’s spiritual and martial traditions, are an integral part of the festival, showcasing the nation’s deep cultural heritage.

The festival also serves as a vibrant platform for Indian craftsmanship, with the “One District, One Product” exhibition allowing artisans from across the country to display their finest works. Additionally, Kalagram, a living museum of Indian crafts, cuisines, and culture, is offering a truly immersive experience for visitors.

In another captivating feature, a breathtaking drone show is enchanting audiences with stunning visual depictions of legendary stories like “Prayag Mahatmyam” and “Samudra Manthan.” Cultural performances, featuring renowned artists such as Shankar Mahadevan, Mohit Chauhan, and Kailash Kher, are enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the festival, which will continue until February 24, 2025.
