Uttar Pradesh News Elderly Man Refuses To Leave Nephews Home Bludgeoned To Death Sant Kabir Nagar UP News

An elderly man was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his nephews in Uttar Pradesh’s Sant Kabir Nagar district on Sunday morning, police said. The accused, identified as Baliram and Shakti, have been arrested.

According to officials, the incident occurred in Supa village under Bakhira police station limits when the accused attacked Ram Sumer Gautam (65) with bricks, striking him on the head, news agency PTI reported.  Preliminary investigations revealed that Gautam, who did not have children, had been living with his nephews. He had been upset with them for the past week and had refused to eat food prepared by them, a police officer said.

The dispute reportedly escalated when the nephews asked him to leave the house, but Gautam refused, leading to a violent altercation. “On Sunday, a fight broke out between them, during which the two nephews allegedly used bricks and nails to assault Gautam. He was injured and taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sunil Kumar, as quoted by PTI.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, and a case has been registered. Further investigation is underway, the ASP added.

Rajasthan: Man Kills Wife’s Relative In Bundi Over Domestic Dispute

In another incident in Rajasthan’s Bundi district, a 38-year-old man allegedly killed his wife’s maternal uncle following a domestic dispute early Sunday, police said.

The accused, identified as Shahazad, a resident of Kishangarh in Ajmer district, allegedly attacked Kallu Khan (62), a resident of Kacchi Basti in Keshoraipatan, and fled the scene, police added.

According to the initial inquiry, Shahazad and his wife had been living separately for the past three months as she stayed at her maternal uncle’s home in Keshoraipatan. Shahazad had been insisting that she return home, said Hansraj Meena, Circle Inspector at Keshoraipatan police station, PTI reported.

The incident took place around 5 am on Sunday when Shahazad went to Khan’s house to take his wife back. However, Khan informed him that she was not there and had gone to her other maternal uncle’s home in Kota, Meena said. Enraged upon hearing this, Shahazad allegedly attacked Khan multiple times with a knife and fled the spot.

“Khan sustained 3-4 injuries, including a fatal wound to his stomach. He was rushed to a hospital in Kota, where he succumbed to his injuries,” Meena said.

Efforts are underway to nab the accused, while the post-mortem examination is being conducted before handing over the body to family members, he added.
