PM Modi, Amit Shah Wishes Murli Manohar Joshi On His 91st Birthday


Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a birthday greeting to veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on his 91st birthday. PM Modi in his tweet wrote that Joshi was the “source of inspiration for millions of party workers”.

“Many congratulations to the successful BJP leader, respected Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi ji on his birthday. He is the source of inspiration for millions of party workers. His wisdom, long-term experience and nationalist thoughts are extremely valuable for the country. I wish him a healthy and long life”, PM Modi tweeted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda were other leaders who extended their greetings to Joshi.

Shah and Singh paid a visit to the veteran leader. Shah wrote in a tweet, “I met the strong pillar of the BJP family and the source of inspiration for all of us workers, respected Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi ji on his birthday and wished him well.”

Meanwhile, the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, “Went to Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi ji’s residence and extended my warm wishes to him on his birthday. His role in India’s development journey and strengthening the party is truly inspiring. Praying for his good health and long life.”

Union Minister and BJP president JP Nadda who also paid a visit to Joshi extended warm birthday wishes, saying heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

“I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, former Union Minister, Padma Vibhushan Honorable Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi on his birthday. Your life philosophy dedicated to the organization and public service is always our inspiration. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for your good health and long life,” Nadda said on X.

Joshi, who was among the prominent faces of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, was also one of the founding fathers of the BJP and led the party as its president between 1991 and 1993.

He also served as the minister of science and technology in the Vajpayee government (1998-2004) and, in 2017, was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan — the nation’s second-highest civilian award.
